REPERTOIRE
Arranged by Chris
Chris specialises in instrumental fingerstyle and live looping arrangements of popular songs for solo acoustic guitar. Each arrangement takes between thirty and forty hours to develop, and the results speak for themselves.
What separates a great arrangement from a forgettable one comes down to three things.
-
01 – Melodies that sing
The melody is everything. Using slides, hammer-ons and subtle tonal inflections, Chris crafts melodic lines that do not simply replicate a vocal, they inhabit it. The listener hears the song they know and love, played in a way they have never quite heard before.
-
02 – Harmony and bass lines that work together
Most instrumental arrangements treat the chords and the bass as an afterthought. Chris does not. A syncopated bass line running beneath the chords and complementing the melody creates a genuinely polyphonic experience, the impression of multiple instruments playing at once. It is the element that makes people lean in and wonder how it is being done.

03 – Built for the room
Every arrangement is engineered not just to sound beautiful in isolation but to work within the context of a live performance. Dynamics, energy and pacing are considered from the very first note, so each piece builds, breathes and lands exactly as intended on the day.
